Damdin Sukhbaatar, the “HERO of the Mongolian revolution”, declared

Mongolian independence from the  Chinese in July 1921. In 2013, city

authorities changed the square’s name from Sukhbaatar Square to

Chinggis Khaan Square, but many citizens refer to it by the old name.
